Self-assessment

Is TMS right for you?

Nine questions, about two minutes. At the end you see where you stand — including if the answer is that TMS is not your best next step.

Why we ask

What the questions are actually for

Treatment history

TMS is cleared for adults, and for adolescents aged 15 and older alongside antidepressant medication, whose depression has not improved on prior antidepressant medication. How many you have tried, and what happened, is the single biggest factor.

Safety screening

A small number of things make TMS unsuitable — certain non-removable metal implants in or near the head, for example. Better to surface that now than in week three.

Practicality

A course is short daily appointments over about seven weeks, five days a week. If that is not workable for you right now, we would rather tell you than sell you.

Would you rather just talk to someone? Book a free 30-minute consultation or call (435) 900-7816.

Common questions

The three things people ask first

  • Does TMS actually work? What the research shows, what we see at our clinic, and the part nobody can tell you in advance.
  • Will my insurance cover it? What most plans require, what it is likely to cost, and how we check your benefits.
  • Does it hurt? What a session is actually like, and the honest answer on discomfort.
